Book Lists Student Consumer Information Disclosure STUDENT CONSUMER INFORMATION DISCLOSURE The Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), includes many disclosure and reporting requirements for institutions participating in Title IV programs. A disclosure requirement is information that HEMSPN is required to distribute or make available to students (and sometimes employees). A reporting requirement is information submitted to the U.S. Department of Education or other agencies. Disclosure and reporting requirements sometimes overlap. The following is a list of the key disclosure and/or reporting requirements, along with a description of how and when this information is distributed and where it can found.     Financial Aid What is Federal Student Aid (FSA)? Federal Student Aid (FSA) comes from the U.S. Department of Education. It is meant to assist the student with education expenses at a post secondary school. Federal student aid covers such expenses as tuition, fees, books and supplies, and transportation. Aid also can help pay for educational expenses needed to be successful in school. The types of aid available at Hannah E. Mullins school of Practical Nursing are: Pell Grant – Pell Grant money usually doesn’t have to be repaid. Most U.S. Department of Education grants are based on the student’s financial need. Loan – Loan money must be repaid with interest. For details about the federal student aid programs, including maximum annual amounts and loan interest rates, visit studentaid.gov . How to Get Started: The financial aid process begins with completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). These programs in general cover tuition, fees, textbooks, uniforms and additional supportive services as deemed necessary on an individual basis and according to their own guidelines.
